Volunteer at Toby's House

Getting Started

Volunteers are important at Toby’s House and every hour you contribute helps keep kids safe and strengthen families in our community.. Would you like to make an immediate impact in the life of a child? Volunteer Types

How You Can Help

At Toby’s House Crisis Nursery, we provide diapers, pull-ups, and formula to help families meet their children's basic needs during challenging times. To access services, we ask parents or legal guardians to provide basic information, including names, birthdates, contact information, and completion of a brief survey. Supplies can be picked up Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

Childcare

Childcare volunteers assist Toby’s House staff by participating in childcare and routine activities under the direction of staff. Volunteers interact with children during playtime and assist with daily activities such as serving meals, cleaning up, and soothing and nurturing children during nap and bedtime.


Basic Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old. 
  • Must be willing to commit to volunteering a minimum of six hours (2 shifts) per month. 
  • Maintain strict confidentiality. 
  • Be willing to follow the guidance of staff. 
  • Pass an interview screening and participate in volunteer training sessions. 
  • Be willing to fulfill Montana State licensing requirements, including a background check and fingerprinting. 
  • Second MMR immunization. 
  • Adult Tdap booster.

Donation Sorting

The role of a donation sorting volunteer is to organize and sort donations. Volunteers will inspect and separate donations according to Toby’s House donation sorting guidelines.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must enjoy folding and sorting clothing. 
  • Must have a passion for organizing!
